2020 Graduation

To the families of the Class of 2020,

We want to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for our families and the seniors of the class of 2020. You have been a wonderful class and we have enjoyed spending time with you at school, activities, and events.

In coordination with the PYLUSD all the high schools have decided that a large scale graduation, even in August is unlikely. To that end El Dorado will host an on campus Graduation on Wednesday June 10. Seniors and their family have been assigned a time to drive to the campus -- one car per graduate. We will have a stage set up in front of campus. The graduate will exit the car while the rest of the family stays in the car and follows along. Please see the map link to the right on your screen.

The family can take pictures and video from the car while the student receives their diploma in their cap and gown. Photographers will also be there and these will be provided to students at no charge. Students will be provided a mask as they exit the car and we will maintain social distancing throughout. Please bring an index card with your name written as you would like it read. If necessary, write it out phonetically, so the reader will have no difficulties pronouncing it. There will be a photo opportunity right before the students get in the car that they can remove their mask for, but otherwise the mask should stay on the entire time. Once students receive their diploma, they will return to the car.

Drive Through Graduation Times
9-10:30 -- Alcazar through Evans
10:30 - 12pm -- Fan through Kwok
1-2:30 pm -- Laboissonniere through Quint
2:30 to 4pm -- Ramirez through Zietlow

We will live stream the Drive Through event, so you can tell your family and friends to watch whenever you plan to come through the link during your time.

Virtual graduation will be published on June 10th at 6pm. It will include speeches and recognition for each senior. Mr. Campuzano working with Titan Radio has also produced a tribute to our seniors from the staff. It will be sent out Friday June 5.

I hope that this clarifies our plans for seniors. This is new to all of us, so we appreciate your patience and flexibility. If you have questions, please let me know. You can email me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Joey Davis
Principal
